Adam, Another interesting post with lots of food for thought.
Shaq has been great as an interesting sideline and played surprisingly well for the Suns. He probably has a little left in the tank and could help the Cavs or he could completely screw up their team as he did here in Phx. All this actually begs the question.
The Suns simply need to dump Shaq and his salary. If they received nothing in return but a second round draft choice if might be the best of all possible scenarios. Wallace is totally washed up and Pavlovich and his dogs are all dead. Why bother taking on their salaries?
The Suns and Steve Kerr simply need to admitt their mistakes and get on with rebuilding this team. We might as well trade Steve Nash as he really doesn't figure into any plans for the future. Nash has been a wonderful player and he obviously has a a year or two left of high level offensive play. Perhaps he should be traded along with Shaq to the Cavs? I thik it is pretty obvious that Steve will not stay in Phx when his contract expires.
The trick for the Suns is to rebuild this team by getting rid of their aging stars and their contracts while still fielding a competitive team that will satisfy the fans.
Complementary players like Shawn Marion should never have been given maximum contracts. The Suns management has made too many contractual erros of this type in their past. I see this management is learning some hard lessons in this regard.
Steve Kerr is a very dangerous person to have as the GM. He thinks he is smart.

I agree with you that Steve Kerr should be on the chopping block for many different reason, this would be just one more of those reasons to me.
